Howard Gum Elected State Bar Councilor 2006

In October 2006, Howard Gum was elected to the position of State Bar Councilor by the lawyers of Buncombe County’s 28th Judicial District Bar. The State Bar Liaison acts as representative before the state bar for lawyers practicing law in the 28th Judicial District for a three year term. Mr. Gum fills the seat of vacating state bar councilor, Sara Davis, who served in the position for nearly a decade.

Mr. Gum was re-elected to a second three year term at this post by his peers in October 2009. During his first term as State Bar Councilor, Mr. Gum served on the Attorney Client Assistance Committee and the Administrative Committee. Currently, he serves on the Executive Committee, the Grievance Committee, and the Authorized Practice Committee. By virtue of this position, Mr. Gum also serves ex officio on the Executive Committee of the 28th Judicial District Bar in Buncombe County, North Carolina.
